Whether it's a great book, you can only read it in chrismas time. The cover cries "christmas" and in the book the people always talk about christmas trees and various sorts of christmas cookies and presents and toy shops . . . ! But it's a great experience which everybody should have.

New Jersey-based bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's life would be complicated enough as it is -- Christmas is around the corner and she hasn't even started to prepare for the holidays, an old toy maker named Sandy Claws failed to appear for his court appearance, so she has to find him, two attractive men -- the extraordinary headhunter Ranger and Trenton cop Joe Morelli -- have a soft spot for her, and her Grandma Mazur has a new studmuffin. Yet that isn't all -- Stephanie suddenly faces a sexy-looking and wonderfully-smelling man named Diesel in her kitchen who appeared out of nowhere but claims to be "sort of real."

With that, the plot is ready for the wildest Stephanie Plum adventure ever, complete with angry elves, combat mall shopping, and a supersociety. Janet Evanovich's "Visions Of Sugar Plums" is a holiday treat for every Stephanie Plum fan, even though the book is a bit short compared to a regular Plum adventure. Readers not familiar with Stephanie's special lifestyle should think of reading the first novel in the series -- "One For The Money" -- before picking up "Visions of Sugar Plums." That way the "Plum experience" will be more fulfilling -- and surely it will be "merry and bright" for everyone.

Janet Evanovich hat mit ihrem Kurz-Roman Visions of Sugar Plums mal wieder einen Knueller gelandet! Auf fast jeder Seite kann man sich den Zorn seiner Mitmenschen auf sich ziehen da man aus dem schallenden Gelaechter einfach nicht mehr rauskommt! Sei es Diesel der Stephanie auf Schritt und Tritt verfolgt und staendig Witze ueber sie reisst, Stephanies Vater der wie jedes Jahr einen Baum gekauft hat der anscheinend neben einem Atomkraftwerk gewachsen ist, Valerie die vollkommen durchdreht und sich im Badezimmer einschliesst oder Steph die sich mit ein paar Zwergen anlegt und anschliessend reissaus nehmen muss weil sie mal wieder mit Essen beworfen wird! Aber der absolute Hoehepunkt ist wie schon in Hard Eight der schrullige Anwalt Kloughn der alles verbockt! Also meiner Meinung nach ist Visions of Sugar Plums vollkommen wert einen Blick zu reskieren obwohl die Ranger-Babes oder Team Morelli etwas zu kurz kommen da die beiden entweder nur erwaehnt werden oder nur sehr kurze Auftritte haben! Schade eigentlich! Aber das Buch verdient trotzdem die volle Sternenzahl!

This newest book in the Plum series is an early Christmas present to all fans of Stephanie Plum. Packed with laughs and yet another blown up car, the only reason it doesn't get five stars is that it's a bit short. I sure wouldn't mind to see more of Diesel in future Plum novels, and already look forward to Stephanie's next adventure
