David Nicolle gives us a brief but quite detailed insight of
the beginnings and early years of one of the most popular Military Orders of the Crusades. It a real read-through for all people interested in the history of Military Orders, who aren't into the holy-grail and conspiracy-through-the-ages stuff, which is the subject of most books on the Knights Templar. This book gives also useful hints for reenactors and the colour-plates give us quite a good impression of how a Knight Hospitaller looked like in the 12th and 13th century.
